Something Blue

It’s wedding season and that means lots of showers, luncheons, tea parties, trips to the alterations, meeting vendors and the like.  It’s always nice to shower a bride with love an affection before she goes off to become “Mrs.” during this crazy time in her life.  Lori Miller of Design Loft 805 recently did just that.  I simply couldn’t wait to show you the beautiful shower she orchestrated and hopefully inspire a maid or matron of honor with this elegant post!

If you are lucky enough to be outside, DO IT!!!  Awnings, umbrellas and overhangs are a must in the summer months, but being outdoors in a backyard garden setting is perfect for a bridal shower.  You do not need a super big space to do it either.  This backyard is average sized for Southern California (which, to some parts of the country this is a small backyard), but the space was decorated so perfectly and with amazing detail.  There was a hot breakfast food station, and a drink station was situated on the outdoor BBQ island.  A long table set along the space next to the pool finished it off.

All the decor was was in the brides colors and the main retailers used for decor were purchased from either Walmart, Michael’s or Dollar Tree (YES!!!  Dollar Tree!)

Inside the house was just as beautiful with a nice entry table for putting your address on a return envelope for gifts and nice notes to leave the bride.  The kitchen was filled with simple finger foods, a coffee & muffin bar and of course the CAKE!!!!  Throughout the house were framed pictures of the “Mrs & Mr” to be.  It was a really nice touch. (Please note the many legged intruder on the Omelet Bar picture frame!  the things you notice AFTER you take the picture!!!!)

The best part, nothing was expensive.  A few key items, such as the rental chairs and the cake might go beyond some budgets, but when you decide to splurge on only one or two special things all the little things that were from Michael’s, Walmart and Dollar Tree just add up to the elegant decor without breaking the bank.  The bride was showered and the matron of honor threw a party to remember!
